Fancy Text Generator

Type your text once and see it in over 90 styles at the same time: bold, italic, script, gothic, bubbles, upside down, mirror, strikethrough, glitch, case changers, Morse code and more. Press Copy on any style and paste it into a social media bio, a chat message, a username or a document. It works because every styled letter is a real Unicode character, not a font.

How fancy text works

Fancy text is not a font. When you turn H into ๐‡, the generator swaps it for a different character, here U+1D407 "Mathematical Bold Capital H". Unicode contains many styled alphabets, originally added for mathematics, phonetics and symbols, and these generators map each ordinary letter to its styled counterpart. Because the result is plain text, it can be pasted almost anywhere without installing a font.

The style groups

Bold & italic

Bold, italic, sans-serif and monospace letters and digits.

Block: Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols

Script & gothic

Handwriting, Old English and double-struck letters. A few letters live in a separate block, so the generator swaps them in automatically.

Blocks: Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols, Letterlike Symbols

Bubbles & boxes

โ’ทโ“คโ“‘โ“‘โ“›โ“” ๐Ÿ…ฑ๐Ÿ…พ๐Ÿ†‡ ๐Ÿ„ฟ๐Ÿ„ฐ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ„ด๐Ÿ„ฝ

Circled, squared and parenthesized letters. Boxed styles only have capitals, so lowercase letters are shown as capitals.

Blocks: Enclosed Alphanumerics, Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement

Small & wide

Small caps, superscript, subscript and fullwidth text. Subscript has no form for some letters, which stay as normal letters.

Blocks: Halfwidth and Fullwidth Forms, Superscripts and Subscripts

Special letters

Letters borrowed from Canadian syllabics and Japanese characters, plus upside down, upside down (reversed), mirror, reversed and leetspeak text.

Lines & glitch

Sฬถtฬถrฬถiฬถkฬถeฬถ Uฬฒnฬฒdฬฒeฬฒrฬฒ Gฬทlฬถiฬตtฬธcฬดhฬถ

Combining marks that sit on top of or through each letter. The glitch styles stack several marks per letter and look different from one device to the next.

Block: Combining Diacritical Marks

Decorative

ๅฝก Frame ๅฝกโ˜… โ™ก Hearts โ™ก

Your text framed in symbols or with a symbol between each letter. The letters themselves stay normal, so these work everywhere.

Block: Dingbats

Case

UPPER lower Title aLtErNaTiNg

Uppercase, lowercase, title case, sentence case, alternating and inverted case. These work on any letters, not just A to Z.

Style combos

A styled alphabet with a line added, such as bold with underline or italic with strikethrough.

Code & converters

-.-. --- -.. . 01001000 48

Morse code, binary and hex. These are encodings rather than styled alphabets. Morse leaves out any character it has no code for.

Before you use it

Fancy text is fun for bios, captions and messages, but it has some limits:

  • Accessibility: screen readers may read each letter by its full Unicode name, such as "mathematical bold capital H", or skip it. Keep important information in plain text.
  • Search and copying: styled letters are different characters, so search engines and "find in page" will not match them to normal letters. Avoid them for names people need to search for.
  • Missing glyphs: an app or device without a font for a character shows an empty box. Rarer styles such as Cool letters, Asian style and the squared alphabets are the most likely to fail, so check the result where you plan to use it.
  • Only A to Z and 0 to 9 are converted by the styled alphabets. Accented letters and other scripts are left as they are. The Case styles work on all letters.
  • Regional indicators are the letters used to build flags. A hidden separator is added after each one so they stay as letters instead of joining into flags, and a few apps may still show flags.
  • Impersonation: many platforms limit or block styled text in usernames because it can imitate other names. See the Homoglyph Checker to see which characters look like which.
