Inscriptional Parthian Unicode Script

The Inscriptional Parthian script is a historical script used to write the Parthian language, which was spoken in ancient Iran. It is an abugida script, meaning that each consonant character has an inherent vowel sound, and additional vowel diacritics can be added to modify the vowel. The script is primarily known from inscriptions found on stone and clay tablets, dating from the Parthian Empire (247 BC – 224 AD). It shares some similarities with other Iranian scripts, such as Pahlavi and Sogdian, but has distinct features as well.
