Ahom Unicode Script

The Ahom script, also known as the Tai Ahom Script, is an abugida that is used to write the Ahom language. The Ahom people, who founded the Ahom kingdom and ruled the eastern portion of the Brahmaputra valley between the 13th and the 18th centuries, spoke this dormant Tai language until the late 18th century. The numerous manuscripts written in this script that are still in institutional and private ownership today preserve the ancient Ahom language.
