The Sogdian Unicode block is a set of characters used to represent the Sogdian language, an extinct Eastern Iranian language that was spoken in Central Asia from the 6th to the 10th centuries AD. The block includes characters for Sogdian letters, numbers, punctuation, and other symbols. Sogdian was written in a script that is similar to Pahlavi, another Eastern Iranian language. The Unicode block for Sogdian was added to the standard in 2018.
