The Phags-pa Unicode block is a set of characters used to represent the Phags-pa script, a Tibetan writing system created in the 13th century by the Tibetan monk Phags-pa. The block includes characters for vowels, consonants, and various diacritics. Phags-pa was used as the official script of the Yuan Dynasty in China but eventually fell out of use. However, it has seen a resurgence in recent years, especially in Tibet and among Tibetan scholars.
